Shaderlight works fine for very simple test scenes with low poly count, but as soon as I export a more complex model, for example a car, it crashes Shaderlight. I am using an 8-core MacPro and Vista 64 via Bootcamp with 8GB ram. I suspect that Shaderlight is RAM-hungry and that I don't have enough. Can anyone confirm this and/or offer suggestions? Thanks.

Hi mikemigs

In one sense you're right, Shaderlight is "RAM hungry", though we don't see that as being a disadvantage. The key is that Shaderlight uses all the RAM it can - rather than just what it "needs". In this way it makes best use of available system resources to provide the unique MELT functionality. When rendering a large scene there may be less memory available for MELT, but Shaderlight should automatically scale back on MELT capability to keep the render within available RAM. You're obviously experiencing real problems, so I'd like to find out more about your scene and set up in order to find out why Shaderlight is crashing.
