ArtVPS launches new cloud-based platform for AEC professionals to share 3D projects

16 September 2013

ArtVPS, the company behind Shaderlight – the leading interactive rendering plugin for Trimble SketchUp – is today launching a secure, cloud-based collaboration platform that enables AEC professionals to share ideas and 3D data.

Developed for architects, designers, engineers, contractors and their customers, Sketchpack combines aspects of social networking with file storage and the ability to upload and share interactive 3D models.

ArtVPS has teamed up with Sketchfab, a leading web service with more than 50,000 users that publishes, shares and embeds interactive 3D models online in real-time without the need for a plugin or the host 3D application. This partnership enables Sketchpack users to share 3D information alongside project data and ideas, improving collaboration, speeding up processes and increasing efficiency within project teams.

Kate Marshall, Marketing Director at ArtVPS said: “We’ve been working with architects for some time and appreciate the sheer volume of information that’s generated during a project. We have developed Sketchpack to provide a really simple and effective way to ensure that everyone involved in a project can access data, add comment and contribute to its overall success. By introducing Skechfab to our new product we’ve added an extra dimension to project collaboration.

“We’ve already had some very positive feedback from our beta testers and are very excited about this launch”.
