Shaderlight for SketchUp Beta 1 Release Notes --------------------------------------------- Known Issues * Menu Layout - For menus to display correctly you must have Internet Explorer 8 installed on your computer. * Default Material – By default, SketchUp displays the two sides of a new surface with two different colors, white on the front and blue-grey on the back. Shaderlight however renders this default SketchUp material as plain white on both sides. * Face-Me – "Face Me" components in SketchUp (like the default figure Sang) don't turn to face the camera correctly in the Shaderlight window as you move your viewpoint around. To correct the position you must click the Start Shaderlight Rendering button to re-export the scene. * Transparent Preset – The Shaderlight transparent preset requires that the outside of a surface matches the outside of any transparent material for light refractions to look correct. If the refractions look wrong, right click on the face and select Reverse Faces from the context menu. * Undo – Using undo and redo to change Shaderlight material properties doesn't auto-update the rendered image. To workaround this you must restart the render by clicking the Start Shaderlight Rendering button. * Un-smooth – Un-smoothing a face in SketchUp does not auto-update in the Shaderlight image. To workaround this you must restart the render by clicking the Start Shaderlight Rendering button. * Texture Pins – Editing an the position of a texture using the texture adjustment pins does not auto update in the Shaderlight render window. To get a correct render you must click the Start Shaderlight Rendering button to re-export the scene. * Uninstall – Uninstalling SketchUp before Shaderlight prevents Shaderlight from uninstalling. To uninstall Shaderlight you must first re-install SketchUp. * Shadow Problem – Faces that have additional edges drawn on the surface (for example a square within a square) sometimes cause the shadows cast by that surface to render incorrectly. Unfortunately there is no current workaround for this, but it is rare and we are working on a solution. * Background Reflections – The SketchUp background color is not seen in reflected objects. This is deliberate, because if Shaderlight used the standard SketchUp colors for reflections it would put a green/blue cast on all reflective objects. Instead Shaderlight reflects a white environment, unless Image Based Lighting (IBL) is used (via the presets or a custom IBL), in which case the IBL environment is used for correct reflections.
