• SketchUp 2016 Support

Shaderlight 2016 has full support for the latest version of SketchUp Pro and SketchUp Make.

Please note that Shaderlight is not yet compatible with SketchUp 2016’s ‘Identified Extensions Only’ loading policy, so you will need to be using ‘Unrestricted’ (the default) or ‘Approve’ mode.

There is an issue in the current release of SketchUp 2016 that means Shaderlight will not be enabled automatically upon installation. After running the Shaderlight installer, you may need to go to SketchUp’s Preferences dialog (from the Window menu on Windows, or the SketchUp menu on OS X), then select the Extensions page and click the checkbox next to the Shaderlight entry in the list of plugins.

• Section Plane Rendering

Shaderlight now renders active section planes enabling users to render photorealistic floor plans or sectional views from SketchUp.

Section plane rendering is only available from SketchUp 2014 and later, due to missing Extension APIs in older versions of SketchUp.

• New Skylight Portal Placement Tool

A new skylight portal placement tool makes it possible to create portals of any shape using any of SketchUp’s built-in drawing tools.

• MOV Files Saved With Background Visible (OS X only)

When rendering an animation to a MOV file, Shaderlight now saves the movie with the background visible instead of black.
