Not all materials are smooth and the Bump property adds a relief texture to the material. In the case of Auto materials, there are special bump textures that accurately portray the relief of that material. You can increase or decrease the amount of the bump by increasing the bump value in the material editor. Negative amounts will "reverse" the bump so it appears to be going the opposite way. A value of zero will remove the bump altogether.

For materials you create yourself, the bump will be derived from the texture image you apply to the material. No bump will be seen if the bump value is left at the default value of zero.

If there is no texture image, Shaderlight creates its own general roughness if you set the bump value to be above or below zero.
