Shaderlight 2017 now supports Skatter

25 September 2017

Shaderlight Ltd, the developers of the rendering plugin for Trimble SketchUp, are pleased to announce an update to Shaderlight 2017.

The new release features support for the popular Skatter plugin to SketchUp.  Using Skatter's Render Only option, an almost unlimited number of object instances can be rendered in Shaderlight without bogging down SketchUp. Instead of creating all of the instances within SketchUp, Skatter will send the specifications for the instances directly to Shaderlight.

In addition, the latest update includes three new intermediate self-illuminating material intensities to make it easier to make materials representative of modern TV screens.

Kate Jackson, Commercial Director at Shaderlight, said, “So many Shaderlight users are using Skatter to render large numbers of objects in their scenes, in particular grass and vegetation.  We are excited to be working with Skatter to support this very popular plugin so that our users can render complex scenes faster and with ease.”

Thomas Hauchecorne, the developer of Skatter, said, “Skatter's included content library includes a variety of grasses, trees and rocks, enabling the creation of highly detailed environments, from manicured lawns to lush meadows and dense forests.  We are very pleased that Shaderlight now supports Skatter and are looking forward to seeing the results being rendered by Shaderlight and Skatter users.”
